Michal refuses to debate the potency of compounding his gigantic Fiction Corpus with a fairy tale about how to sell your art; cites fatigue

I think highly of the prospect of implementing English as a common language for the world. I don't think highly of the altogether ordinary modus operandi by which English is presented for study.
Upgrading one's knowledge of a language isn't like creating a more sonorous flute. A language - a spoken language - isn't just a tool that you can learn to exploit with a greater amount of precision. A spoken tongue cannot be riven from the philosophical currents of a group of people of which it is a description. A language isn't recited; it happens - and keeps happening as long as a circle of people keeps using it.
To make a pupil recite English is to rob her of its cultural context. A capable instructor has to develop a strategy for introducing it; the bravest pupil goes out to seek it.
A dictionary can be an influential tool. The best dictionaries describe words based on a particular corpus, a body of written language of various size and consistency. Such a corpus might include anything from a book about literature to a whole bunch of flash fiction. I burnt many candles forging my "sensational" Fiction Corpus to form a unique sort of dictionary based on the ability of one man to tell a story in myriad forms. It is a labor of love and listening.
I have devised a million words and I have classified them, reformulating them - not simply to teach an American language but to defend the human soul, and to goad that soul or spirit not just to recite but to happen.
A Better Way to Define English: Grouped into Eight Types of Words
Type 7 Answers the Question, "Why?"
The 8 types of words can be associated with the days of the week in the Acceptance calendar. Saturday, or Armed Forces of Democracy Day respresents the "Why"
A word can represent many things. First and foremost it represents a type of gesture. A specific way of speaking. A specific way of inscribing a mark. A specific way of moving your hand. To know one of these kinds of gestures is to know how to pronounce the word thus in some kind of way.
If you want to communicate an idea using the word thus, you will need to know what other people are made to think when you make the gesture. You will never have complete awareness of or control over the associations or identities that are invoked by a set of words, but you can know what was and what is a single word's jointly accepted definition, at least for a given place, thereby tracing a direction which will help you to understand what kinds of associations and identities are driving its use.
By using the word yourself, you enter into a long-standing albeit oftentimes unconscious debate over its definition, forever entangling yourself into the history of its use. The way you use it, and which other words you use it with carries weight.
The more you know about where the word thus is located in the fabric of a language, the better you will be at exploiting its cultural power.

A story bible for a comic book series set in a post climate-change California narrated by eight characters who live through a natural disaster that sinks Los Angeles and triggers a war with an expansionist Mexican government covertly supported by China.
Author's Note
"Thus" does not make an appearance in Death to Mcdonalds.
An experimental science fiction Christology that makes Jesus the hard boiled narrator of his own early years on a bizarro earth made dark by volcanic ash and informally ruled by a man from Mars who sells bottled air.
More than one Russian oil company raised itself an independent or 'independent but attached' battalion, just to gain itself a seat in the Presidium. For almost the same reason, Krupnik Holding was doing more than its fair share of recruitment. The Polish government, beleaguered with its own problems, and having very little to do in the way of oil, was totally uninterested in Panzer-Tank's privateering. Apart from a certain Polish educational institution, which possessed oil fields in Baku thanks to an ancient and once lost but then recovered endowment, Krupnik Holding was the only organization in Poland involved in the war effort. But instead of just pumping money into Panzer-Tank's war chest, Krupnik Holding was also raising troops. The prevailing theory among Jesus's coterie, considering that Panzer-Tank's daughter Zoe was engaged to be married to Leonard Cohen-Krupnik's son, was that the Krupniks were trying to accumulate enough votes in the Presidium to offset the Russian influence that might hamper Panzer-Tank's own interests. Thus, the Guderians and Krupniks were allying against the Russian threat, a situation which resulted in one dead Baron Cohen-Krupnik with Russian bullets in his head. But this was only theory.
Procurators' enthusiasm notwithstanding, there was serious cause for alarm. The estimate - and that's all it was - that there were about five thousand current or former Russian agents in Poland, thirty of whom were supposed to have high-level government positions, was troublesome enough. It was much worse when Western governments were involved.
Thus, when he opened the door and saw Columbus with Lucius and a Krupnik and his future brother-in-law, Jesus smiled and said, "Are you here for the Black Madonna?"
Sand Island was very close to the Cathedral - so close, in fact, that it was often confused for Cathedral Island. Cathedral Island was not really an island - perhaps it once was, in the past, before something was filled, but in those days the Cathedral stood in a part of Center City which in no way could be called an island. Center City itself was an island, formed by the Oder River, which flowed around Sand Island, and the old Oder River, which formed a semicircle around Center City to the north. If this were the island referred to by the name Cathedral Island, it would be a very generous thing for a building that only occupied a small portion of a much larger landmass. Visitors to the Cathedral often looked for Cathedral Island, but nowhere was it to be found. When they asked for it, local people often said: "It must be that one over there." But that was Sand Island, and even though it had, not just one, but two churches: one Roman Catholic and one Orthodox, there was no Cathedral. Thus there was an island with no Cathedral and a Cathedral with no island. There was no easy solution to this problem.
Most importantly, we gained a culture of wealth. Music, art and poetry must have a cost. The higher the cost, the better the art. After all, musicians need instruments, sculptors need rock, and poets need to travel. They must be well fed, and thus the Golden Age of each and every nation has been built on gold. Poeta nascitur, et fit. Alexander was made on the slopes of Mount Pangaion. Poland's Golden Age was built on grain, traveling by raft or barge - or even (in the case of a real entrepreneur) by skiff - down the great Vistula River, which took its golden rye by twists and turns and dangerous spring waters into the great city of Danzig. The great age of mercantilism it was! Renaissance of trade and culture! In Poland, safeguarded by the great magnates and latifundia: may they come to reign again! This time, with machines!
A literature book narrated by a pair of siblings on either side of the Atlantic whose profoundly weird sexual experiences pose a serious challenge to their traditional understanding of mathematicians, marriage, gay young men and God.
Now that I've organized my thoughts, I think I've discovered something: that which is purely love has a very specific nature, which is not shared by the many other things we associate with it. These things can be distinguished by their place of origin. Thanks to the body, we experience attraction, otherwise known as 'eros,' a feeling based on sexual desire that turns us into 'lovers.' Thanks to the spirit, or what we otherwise call the heart, we experience enthusiastic devotion, which springs from a combination of higher feelings, what we otherwise call emotions, which are based on personal ties. These feelings are the basis of 'romance,' which, out of all things associated with love, is the most subject to personality, and which, depending on what our personalities are like, turns us into 'spouses,' whether we espouse a person or a cause.
– Title 3, Regarding a Dream, Chapter 7, The Seventh Day, Part 1, Strength & Security Sector Reform, Section 2, Facing a Choice, Paragraph 3
Now, according to this analysis, the Greatest Commandment would have us give to God as much enthusiastic devotion, as much unselfish loyalty, and as much attention as we could possibly find within ourselves.
– Title 3, Regarding a Dream, Chapter 7, The Seventh Day, Part 1, Strength & Security Sector Reform, Section 2, Facing a Choice, Paragraph 6
My imagination was so enthusiastic that before long my mind was completely exhausted from its pandering. But you know, my sister, this feeling has nothing to do with sexual arousal. The two are quite distinct. Now, as you can imagine, in the days before Albert's collapse, there was more than one opportunity for me to be sexual aroused. In fact, the Piano Kiss was only the crowning moment in a series of sexually stimulating encounters. And I confess: Indiana was making me very aroused. But throughout all that time, I suffered only one inflammation of the loins. And there was nothing sexual about it. Nor was there even a physical body present.
Perhaps a glare from the lights of the console: I couldn't see them from where I was, but, perhaps, owing to Nike's hunched-over position (which he would only relax when he was looking down his nose, at which point, he was leaning back in his chair - but only briefly, as then he would lean forward again), with his body thus contracted, the lights from the console may have been reflecting off his face, concentrating under his brow - but, I suppose, it may have been a reflection from the dashboard, angled as it was towards the driver, or maybe a combination thereof - regardless, there was a distinct glare on his face, and, hollowing out his features, he looked like the devil's minion, or, at least, someone trapped in hell: either a weary traveler misled, or a duty-bound man who was chafing against the fiber of his will.
That is a very heavy price to pay, and I would never multiply the cost." When I finished, I was looking down at the table. Macy was apologetic: he said that he was sorry, that he didn't mean for that subject to come up; he was at fault, and so he apologized. There was a long silence; maybe Macy was waiting for me to forgive him. Instead, the food came, and thus we began to eat.
A collection of stories featuring a sexy Parisian ghost, a spooky Moon base full of vagina-faced aliens, a policeman with an Irish name, a truck full of watermelons, a flautist, and a man who has to see another man about a diseased horse.

ALICE: You may.
FLETCHER: If the beautiful lady will oblige me thus, I know I shall play my part with an ardor heretofore unseen on any stage here or in any part of the Western world. 'Susannah.'

ALICE: 'Marry me!'
FLETCHER: 'I wish to be married to you.'
ALICE: 'Ton't pee sirry, Toc. I am ote enough to pee your mutter.'
FLETCHER: 'You're not my mother, Susannah - not by a long shot. You're not half as tall, nor half as old either. Nor is she as pretty as you are, beloved.'
ALICE: 'Man shoot haf yun wife.'
FLETCHER: 'Susannah, you have been kinder to me than anyone else I have ever known. I love you better than everybody else put together.'

Bob smiled. He pointed to the neck. "Carotid," he said. "The guy bled out. You can't see it cause of the twist in the neck. It's a thing of beauty, isn't it?" The man was smiling like a whore on Tuesday. Proctor couldn't share the enthusiasm. He watched the body being lowered.
Steve O started to wonder what it would've been like being more than friends. One day, in the shower, staring at a soapy finger, he decided to find out. Thus was discovered Steve O's new cure for headaches. As is the case with many self-medicating patients, Steve O over-prescribed.

I have yet to perform a collocation analysis of "thus." I hope I can get it done sometime soon. -Michal
To promote democracy, the strong must empty themselves of their strength. The weak must be granted the opportunity to grow strong. We cannot force the end of patriarchy. To do so simply perpetuates feudalism under a different name.
